| I hope you are enjoying the website. I would like to take this opportunity to share some of my thoughts. Thank you to Sarah and Joe for their energy and creativity that made this website a reality. They finally dragged me into the 21st century.
In my forty plus years of gardening in Wisconsin, I have learned many things. Some through trial and error, some through dedicated application of the sciences. I have seen many landscape fads come and go. Trendy gimmicks, tools, chemicals, plant varieties, and super centers selling all of it to uninformed consumers. What is apparent? Gardening does not have to be complicated. Simple can be satisifying. Gardening has many definitions and purposes, gardens can be large, or gardens can be very small, a single pot perhaps. I believe gardening is not only cultivating soil for plants to grow, but also an opportunity to cultivate your mind and soul. Everyone needs a garden. A place to let your hair down, get your hands dirty, find peace and harmony, your space. The best gardens are derived from a passion and purpose. I love to build gardens.
My resolve to research and solve the typical landscape conundrums will continue. Unending experimentation will realize a greater understanding and enrichment of gardens. I feel that education on the significance of gardens is imperative to establishing a healthier society. A society focused on on our environment and on each other. I will always support attempts to preserve and enhance our environment. My concentration is toward ecological endeavors required to insure nature is there for our future generations.
